Today, dear readers, we will begin a journey. A journey that chronicles my path from chaos to sanity, from clutter to clean, from fat to LEAN.

I can’t even begin to describe how I got to this point but somehow I have. My house is a complete mess and most of it is just junk. We have – among the four adults that live here – six TVs! The piles of books for both children and adults are out of control. I think it is great to love reading, but Christ! The sprawl is out of control. And, before it is over, I will need to tackle my craft room too.

We will chronicle the journey in the blog with a segment I’ll call “Clutter-Free Friday”.

Your first view: Before pictures of the office. This is a room I need some suggestions for. The bookcases are literally full and I’ve already sorted through for tossing and done some tossing. But the piles keep coming back and each time they grow larger.

Exhibit A: The tall bookcase

As you can see, this area is a complete disaster. The number of books seeking refuge on this shelf exceeds the storage capacity. Just three weeks ago I had it organized including grouping all the books on my “to read” list together. That’s right. 3 weeks.

Exhibits 2 and 3: My desk and surrounding area

Piles of clutter on the floor, the filing cabinet, the printer… It’s more a question of where there isn’t a pile of paper, books and junk.

And finally, bookcase number 2. Not that this is also overflowing with junk.

The other picture is of my craft disaster. I’ve got others to share too. Check back in a couple of days.

Here’s a question for you loyal readers: Where do you suggest I start?
