This has to be a record…

I starve you and then I gorge you with three posts and literally hundreds of pictures the same day.  I’m sorry.

Well… not really.

These photos are from Aden Crater.  This is a true volcanic crater located a few miles as the crow flies from Kilbourne Hole.  As the truck drives, it’s 12 more miles straight up a dirt road followed by a few more miles up an even worse dirt road but it’s worth the trip.  There are about 140 pictures in this slide show because I was playing with my camera that day.  One of my current missions is to learn to take better pictures.  You will see some sharp differences between the Maar crater and the volcano.  Aden Crater was really beautiful in a desolate kind of way.  I hope you enjoy these.

Catching Up

I’ve been having some connectivity problems lately and fell behind on blogging so I’m going to catch you up all at once. Wow. I know. Do Not Fall Over.

This slideshow is from the New Mexico Space History Museum in Alamogordo. Last week was our spring break week and I, for one, was determined to not spend it playing the “I don’t know. What do you want to do?” game. The museum was really interesting. Our lunch at Si Senors was pretty tasty and then we watched an IMAX movie “Sharks”. All in all a really good day. I think the highlight for the boys was finding cosmonauts in the International Space Hall of Fame with the same name. They all did and that was neat. It could have been the “Can you land the Space Shuttle” simulator too. Enjoy!

Excursions

I think I’ve been clear with regard to the fact that I am not necessarily a fan of the Lone Star State – particularly the Sun City. But there are some cool things to see   and the weather is almost always cooperative.

Two weeks ago we set out to explore volcanic craters.  First up, Kilbourne Hole -  a Maar crater.

Here’s how you get there:

I want my readers back!

I miss you! Is the blog that bad or are you just busy?

Let me bring you up to speed on the latest.  Remember DiscoverIndies!?  Well, I’m going for it.  Next week I’m hiring a blog design firm and the website will hopefully be live soon after.  That’s exciting.  I’m committed to making that business successful and I can run it from where ever the Army sends us so that is a good thing.

Here’s the pictures I promised of the boys:

Now will you come back?  Next up a volcanic post!
